These spacers are used when using a MK3 engine cradle with Pre-MK3 crank cases. The bottom rear mounting bolt for Pre-MK3 crank cases takes a 5/16 bolt where the MK3 takes a 3/8 bolt, like the top two mounting bolts on all Commando crank cases. The spacer works as a washer and a sleeve to convert the lower mounting hole to accept a 5/16 bolt.
