This rectifier can be used to replace many types of single phase bridge rectifiers on British
and Foreign motorcycles.
This rectifier will replace the Lucas 49072 rectifier.
This rectifier will not work with single phase 180 watts Alternators like the MK3 Commando
or any three phase systems.
It should be mounted on a flat metal surface to act as a heat sink. Up to 10 amps (120
watts 12 volt) little heat sinking is required but for full 25 amp rating an aluminium sheet
of approximately 25 sq. in. should be provided. The alternator connects either way round to
the alternator marked terminals. For positive earth machines the red positive terminal
is connected to frame and the negative to the battery zener ignition supply.
For negative earth machines this is reversed with negative to frame and the positive
red to battery ignition supply.
